Family Week

Last week was Family Week. For the first two days the boys stayed at Tata's house, so we did a lot less activities than normal. Here are some of the highlights.

We took pictures making silly faces:

When we go to the zoo now, we have to have our picture taken before we get in and it's pretty annoying. I'm sure I could just decline it, but I haven't done that yet. So the last time we went, I told the kids we were going to do silly faces instead of standing there and smiling like we've done every time we go. They said, "Let's be puppies!" So we did what Diego is doing in the picture below. It was fun for them to look at on our way out. Diego was very disappointed that we weren't purchasing the $15 picture so I promised him we'd take silly pictures at home.

The boys wrote their names with food and goodies. Sadly I didn't get a picture of Diego's before Eliana ate off all the marshmallows. You can see a marshmallow missing on the "E" below.

We mailed "hugs" to our families. I traced their bodies onto a plastic tablecloth. Not the greatest thing to use for this but it was all I had and I didn't want to go to the store to get butcher paper. Cutting it out was really hard and they didn't look great, but the kids didn't care at all. We wrote, "We love you so much we are mailing you a hug." They thought this was really fun and loved hearing about when their family members got the hugs.

We had a playdate with a friend and she had all kinds of fun family games for them to do. We will definitely be doing those again at home. She has the pictures, but I'll post them here when I get them. The kids had such a good time.

We also watched a lot of home videos and looked at old pictures. The kids LOVE doing this and so do I, so  that was probably my favorite thing we did all week. We watched a few videos each night and the kids cracked up at the things they used to do when they were younger. Eliana didn't quite get that the baby in a lot of the videos was her. She kept pointing at the baby and saying, "A baby!!! So cute!!"

We made Father's Day cards and answered a cute Father's Day questionnaire to give to Marcelo on Father's Day. It was pretty funny to hear their answers. Celo thinks Marcelo weighs 31 pounds and Diego thinks he weighs 113. I said to Celo, "Well, YOU weigh 34 pounds, so do you want to rethink your answer?" He said, "No. I think he weighs 31 pounds." Okay then. I had big plans to take a cute picture of them to give to Marcelo, but it didn't happen. I still will, though!

We also played games like hide and seek, went to the beach with my mom, and just had fun being together as a family. :)
